Intermediate Ensemble Music
The Lass with the Delicate Air is a beautiful 18th century art song by composer Michael Head (1741-1786 - gone too soon!) and lends itself very well to being arranged into a harp duet. The vocal embellishments work beautifully on the harp, and in this arrangement there is an optional melody line (I had oboe in mind but any melody instrument will sound lovely) and cello line.
Written for two intermediate lever harps - one or two easy lever changes.
Score and parts included. $15 NZ
Adso the Cat
This follows a snippet in the afternoon of a wee grey kitten as he explores the garden, finds flittery skittery things, chases, tumbles and eventually curls up for a nap.
This is a top favourite of the Auckland Harp Orchestra for several years running!
Written for early intermediate lever harp duo, or for trio - 2 early intermediate harps plus one late beginner.
Mostly in A minor/C major with one lever change in part 2. Includes harmonics, glissandos, etouffes, and some tight ensemble playing!
Score and parts included $15 NZ
The Seven Joys of Mary is a beautiful, haunting Irish hymn arranged here for a trio of early intermediate harpers.
There is the occasional D# lever change, and a few other common harp techniques, and even suggestions for some vocal lines if the harpist is also a singer. $12 NZ
Score, parts and audio file included
Madam Cole - an elegant Baroque style piece, with the feeling of a gracious dance. Arranged for two intermediate, and one (optional) beginner harp part.
One of our favourite tunes by Turlough O'Carolan, complete with a few harmonics, p.d.l.t, glisses and lovely harmonies!
Complete with score, parts and an audio file. $15NZ
